In June 1935, the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra ceased to exist as the result of a brotherly disagreement over the tempo of a tune. For the next eighteen years The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra recorded hit after hit. During much of this time, Jimmy was on top of the world with his renowned skill on the clarinet and alto-saxophone as well as serving many hits including SO RARE, which garnered Gold Record status. Unfortunately Jimmy died in June of 1957 but the band lives on under the direction or Bill Tole and recreates the legendary sounds that made it famous.
