Driving Miss Daisy

First presented as a play at the Playwrights Horizons in NYC in 1987, Driving Miss Daisy was released as a movie in 1989, winning an Oscar for best picture.

Driving Miss Daisy addresses issues of race and religious prejudice, aging and loss of freedom and independence, dignity and self respect. But ultimately it is a play about the respect and friendship between two people of very different backgrounds
